I used to call myself a graphic designer. But that title seems too broad these days. I'm also an interactive designer. But wait—I can still design a mean page layout and set it up for five-color printing. So maybe that simply makes me an artist. But that term conjures images of an easel, a wooden stool and an oil paint palette. Most of my days are spent in front of a computer with a wireless mouse or a Wacom tablet by my side or huddled up with my team for a brainstorming session in front an oversized whiteboard. So how do I sum up everything I do into one title? I don't. But I can squeeze it into one sentence: I bring stories to life with visual allure—sometimes it's via marketing, corporate identity, user interface, movement, interactivity, or a poster stapled to a telephone pole—but always with strategy and creativity. Take a deep breath if you need to...

So, I recently reached the six-years-experience milestone. (What? no confetti?) That nice round number definitely brings a sense of accomplishment. Over those past six years, my goal has been to continually kick things up a notch for each new chapter of my career. Every year has been a giant stepping stone towards the next.

I kicked things off by studying with some of the best professionals in the industry at RIT, where I earned a degree in Graphic Design. Since then, I have sampled as many flavors of the industry as possible, starting with page layout for a free local newspaper. Next, I spent a full year at a locally owned design firm, handling small and medium sized clients. Then I introduced interactive design to an in-house ad agency where I was able to bring new life to the homepages of the Philadelphia Flyers and 76ers. Later I took up freelancing and was contracted to work on-site at some of the largest ad agencies in the Philadelphia area.

I currently create rich interactive applications and social media awareness campaigns for one of the world's largest Pharmaceutical healthcare juggernauts at one of the region's top integrated ad agencies. There, I'm also deeply involved in the collaborative ideation, strategic brainstorming and direction of projects of all shapes and sizes. All the while, I've continued to run the show with my own freelance business. Oh—I almost forgot to mention my occasional guest bartending gig.

But we can talk about our favorite craft beers later. Right now I'm excited to find out what the future might bring in my next venture. I'd love to chat and see how we can create something new and exciting together.
